Is This Life For Real Or Simulated?

Morpheus explaining Neo the truth about our World

"What is real? How do you define real? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain. This is the world that you know. The world as it was at the end of the twentieth century. It exists now only as part of a neural-interactive simulation that we call the Matrix.
You've been living in a dream world, Neo."

We all remember these profound words which were spoken by Morpheus while explaining the truth to Neo in the cult-classic movie, The Matrix. The film was in a league of its own and created ripples across the masses when it came out in 1999. The most provoking question which this film asked the viewer was, "Is this world real? Or are we just pawns, players and contestants in a game of galactic proportions being constantly monitored by a Supreme Being?". People all over the world have been pondering over this question since then, trying to find a logical explanation to this wild yet plausible theory.

Martin Savage, Professor of Physics at the University of Washington and Zohreh Davoudi, a Physics graduate student have proposed an answer to this very question. A few months back, they published a paper on "Constraints on the Universe as a numerical Simulation" which has ruffled quite a few feathers and garnered interest in the research community. This paper opens up avenues of investigating further into the questions which were raised in the film, The Matrix.

The vast cosmos surrounding this tiny planet, which we call Earth, holds countless mysteries, the answers to which are still unknown. While time is ticking away, we are still grappling to find the origin of this Universe. However, sometimes I feel that we are being watched, that somebody/something has made this planet and brought us here as an experiment, a trial, perhaps a game, we don't know. All we know is that we get stuck up in petty issues such as politics, atrocities on fellow humans, negative emotions and destruction while the Universe around is ever growing, ever expanding. All these humanly entanglements thwart the thought process and inhibits us to further explore the deeper mysteries of this world. We must realize that we are just a minuscule planet in this Galaxy which resides in an even more grander Universe.

On a concluding note, I leave you with this question, let me know your thoughts on the comment section below.

"What are your thoughts regarding this life? Do you believe that life is a simulated game? Or do you believe that we came into existence by chance?"
